Slogan of GyeongGi-Do
At present, we are living in the global era where the ideas and inspiration at the core of each country's competitiveness are merging. Against this backdrop, the GyeongGi slogan - "Global Inspiration, GyeongGi-Do in the World" - embodies the determination of the province to become the center of Northeast Asia as well as the center of the world with its advanced knowledge, cutting-edge technology and creative thinking and activities.
Logo of GyeongGi-Do
The logo represents a strong network and solidarity of the 31 cities and countries within the province as well as a robust network in the globalized 21st century. Also, the logo characterizes a dynamism that is reaching out to the world in search of limitless growth potential and opportunity. Furthermore, it reflects the province's ambition to promote co-existence among all peoples, paving the way by first overcoming the regional and class conflicts in Korea, and then expanding to the world.
Color of GyeongGi-Do
'GyeongGi Blue', the primary color, symbolizes cutting-edge knowledge and technology, creative thinking and innovative actions, while the sky blue-tone signifies the province's infinite potential and opportunities. 'GyeongGi Orange', one of the two additional colors, expresses the warmth and cooperative spirit of Gyeonggi citizens, while the other, 'GyeongGi Green', represents the citizens' affection for Mother Earth and the environment.
 
Meaning of the province's flag
The harmony of €¡ €€ €§, which are the first consonants of the Korean word Gyeonggi-do, reflects the peace and liberty of the region¡¯s people.
The circle, which is red and orange, symbolizes the origin of the universe and also signifies that Gyeonggi is the center of Korea in every aspect of our lives, including politics, economy, culture, and history.
The blue color on top symbolizes the eternal development and growth of Gyeonggi. It is at the head of the global and local movement and is the heart of the 21st century's unified Korea.
The white ground symbolizes the fact that the people are descendants of the noble Korean ancestors.

  Mascot of Gyeonggi: Toya
Toya was developed from combining characters for fertile earth and the region¡¯s cultural inheritance of pottery. It is equivalent to the Chinese characters ÷Ïò¢. ÷Ï is the earth, which is the origin of the soil, and ò¢ is the ground we walk on. We can read Toya as the Mother Earth.
   Mascot of Gyeonggi: Hyohaengi
This is the typical character of Gyeonggi and originates from the model of young King Jeongjo. It stands for the one who is dutiful to parents. Wearing traditional costume and doing good deeds, Hyohaengi represents Korean filial piety.

A great number of forsythia grow in the area of Gyeonggi and they multiply easily.They symbolize prosperity as well as friendliness, gaiety and grace.

As the dove symbolizes peace worldwide, it also represents the citizens' aspirations for peace and their hope for the peaceful unification of Korea.
