Yeonsung Culture Festival(During October/Siheung)
On his way back home from a state visit to Ming country in China, Mr. He-mang Kang, a civil servant and agriculturalist of the early Jeosen Dynasty, collected lotus flower seeds from the shrine of Ninging. As a result of his cultivation in Hajungdong, lotus flowers grew and flourished there. Therefore, in 1466, this place was named Yeonsung. The name of Yeonsung Festival originated from lotus pond and in 1989 it hosted the festival and was designated as Siheung¡¯s own festival name.
