History: Dongducheon was called Sanyeon-ri by taking letters from Sanggol (ßæÍé) and Yeondong (æÐÔ×). Sangyeon-Ri, which was part of Donducheon-eup, was established as 7 Ri, but was reorganized to 4 Dong when the status of Dongducheon was elevated to city
Geography: Located in the foothills of Mount Soyo in Gyeonggi-do, it is Korea¡¯s most northern part, a strategic place and the gateway to the north from the metropolitan area.In a new leap to the 21st Century, Dongducheon-si is becoming the main city north
