Geography: Located in southeastern Gyeonggi-do, it is the center region of Korea, 27km long east to west and 36km long north to south and shaped like a small gourd. The low hills of the Kwangju mountain range are scattered around the city and the tributaries of the rivers Namhan , Bokha, Songgok, and Chungmi flow into the region creating a small floodplain. The soil is fertile with well-irrigated fields making the region good for rice farming. It has good access by Chungbu highway and Yongdong highway.
Culture: It is a place of much history, including Yongweol Temple, Seolbong Festival, Icheon New Rice Crop Festival, Icheon Care Festivals. Also, it hosted the ��International Ceramic Ware Expo 2001��.
The region��s pride is its high quality rice and electronic industries. Industries are evenly developed and more than 300 ceramic ware furnaces are located in the region.

Icheonbaeksa Sansuyu Flower Festival (During April)
Based on the successful 2001 International Ceramic Ware Expo, Icheon has developed the potential to become a international tour city. To celebrate the coming of spring, it hosts the Sansuyu Flower Festival during April.
The festival site, Baeksa-Myeon, has over 100 year-old Sansuyu plants growing wild in Songma-Ri, Kyungsa-Ri, Dorip-Ri of Baeksa-Myeon and the hills of Wonjeok mountain village are covered with the yellow Sansuyu flowers in the early spring and red flowers in autumn.

Ceramic Ware Festival(during Sep-Oct)
