Geography: Seongnam lies on a steep hill and a stream flows through the city. The Geongbu highway passes through the city and the Pyangyu interchange, which serves as a gateway to Seoul, and extension of subway lines offer easy access.
Culturally: The place of active urban agriculture and variety of manufacturing industry and Moranjang a regular folk-market is famous and many cultural remains including Namhan fortified castle are scattered over the area. Moran Five-day Folk Festival (end of March/Moran Performance Theater)
The purpose of this festival is to revive old folk culture and to create a traditional culture environment. The activities start with Pyonmulgutpae Gilnori by ��Salmae�� and rope walking by human cultural asset Mr. Dae-Kyun Kim, and include performances of ��Bawoodake�� by Ansung-Municipal��s Namsandang Pungmul troupe.
