| Description |
|
Rising 576m above sea level, Mt.Seounsan is situated at the southern tip of Gyeonggi-do and serves as border with Chungcheong-do. Its historical significance is enhanced by the Seounsan Fortress which was a battle site during the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592. Nearby, there are also numerous small temples including the Jwaseongsa. The unexplored regions of the mountain seem to be waiting to have their beauty discovered. Facing south from the highest peak of the mountain, one may take in the captivating view of the east sea. On the way down, hiker may stop by at the Cheongnyongsa Temple (national treasure no.824). Just a few minutes down from the Cheongnyongsa Temple is the Cheongnyong Reservoir where you can enjoy water skiing. It's an ideal destination for a one-day getaway.
