Nosan-Palgyeong[Nosan Eight Scenic Beauties]
Description
The area around the birth home of Sir Lee Hangno blends beautifully with the surrounding Palgyeong, which means 'eight types of beautiful scenery'.
-Jewoldae: The place where Sir Lee Hangno took walks. Literally Jewol means bright moon after rainfall, but was used here to represent the character and vision of saints.
-Myeongokjeong: Meaning gathering site of virtuous men, Myeongokjeong is carved in the handwriting of Sir Lee Hangno on the Nakjiam Rock located on the territory.
-Myogobong Peak: Situated to the east of the old house, this mountain peak is the site of the annual sacrificial rites to the mountain gods.
-Byeolso Pond: Above this small pond is Suaechiam Rock where he would hold intensive discussions and studies with his disciples.
-Bunseoldam stream: The waterdrops here resemble a showering snowstorm which explains the name Bunseol, meaning spreading of snow. The water splashing against the rocks creates a beautiful sight.
-Taegeukjeong: This name derives from the fact that the combination of the mountain range and the flowing stream resembles the shape of the Taegeuk, or the Great Absolute.
-Seokmun Cliff: This rock, which is formed like a door, has a clean stream flowing in front and a beautiful scenery to its back.
-lljuam Rock: The 20m-high rock looks as if it's buttressing the sky. The surrounding odd-shaped rocks and spring azaleas are well worth seeing.
